I’m actually pretty good at making all the potions. I could probably brew a Sleeping Draught in my sleep now. Cure for Boils and Antidote for Common Poisons? Easy! Herbicide and Awakening Potions are simple! Forgetfulness potion…
It’s the one potion I can’t brew.
Seriously. I’m fine on the first stage. I can do that no trouble. I wait the 95 minutes to carry on brewing and get my standard ingredients in the mortar. I grab the mistletoe berries, drop two in and then - drop the fucking bottle in the mortar!
I try again.
All goes well and I don’t drop the mistletoe berries in the mortar this time. I’m taking it on the other side of the desk to put it down and - INTO THE CAULDRON WITH YOU!
*facepalm*
Try again - and hey! I managed to put the mistletoe berries back down safe! Aw yeah! I’m going to do this thang! I -
WHAT DO YOU MEAN I RAN OUT OF TIME?
foxyplaydate:
I slept with Draco Malfoy because we were dueling for thirteen and a half minutes.
I slept with Severus Snape because he was horcrux for ten and three quarter minutes.
daniellesgotgoodvibes asked: hi! how do you brew sleeping draught? i keep running out of time in the second phase. do you do other things in the potion book while waiting for the 1 minute time in the cauldron? thanks!
Yep, that’s it. You put the Standard Ingredients in, turn the heat up high until the temperature gauge turns green then quickly switch it down to a medium heat. Keep an eye on that while you add the Valerian and stir it. You should have time to finish the other steps before you need to adjust the temperature again.
I really don’t get it. Why are people having so much trouble with the Sleeping Draught? It’s the easiest of the bunch! I’ve made like 3 today. All the others are too hard!
Congratulations, you have successfully brewed Sleeping Draught, and have been awarded 11 house points for this achievement.
About to brew a Sleeping Draught. Watch me fail.
SAKLKAJGSGDHIE. I’m never making a potion again because I won’t be able to finish it at this rate.
maddays:

Oh yeah Pottermore, of course you can do some maintenance as I’m brewing a potion
moving-ustomars:
That’s perfectly alright.

I WILL get this potion right this time.
I’m brewing the Antidote to Common Poisons on Pottermore, and it needs crushed bezoar. Seriously? Can’t I just throw the bezoar at them and keep my other ingredients for something else? Unicorn Horn is expensive!
